Crestor (rosuvastatin calcium) is a prescription medicine
used to treat high cholesterol. It belongs to a group of medicines called
statins which lower cholesterol. The FDA delayed approval of Crestor for
a year after the drug agency expressed concern about it because of its

risk and in studies before its approval; disease had surfaced in seven
people.

the circulation. Some of these are toxic to the kidney and can result
in kidney infection. Related Crestor side effects include cardiac arrest
resulting from potassium released form the damaged muscle cells, causing
malignant heart rhythms.
The most common side effects are:
* Muscle pain, damage
* Constipation
* Weakness
* Nausea
* Abdominal Pain
When taking Crestor when you are pregnant, the risk of birth defects
is very high. You should not take Crestor if you are pregnant, or could
become pregnant during treatment.
The most serious side effects are
* Liver failure
* Muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis)
* Kidney failure
