Orap
Orap was FDA approved for treating psychosis and is also used as an antipsychotic.
In September 1999, new Orap warnings were issued because of the potentially
fatal electrical disturbances of the heart. When Orap was first approved,
the treatment option was not supposed to be used in patients that did
not first try alternate choices. The Orap warning also stated that combining
Orap with other therapies, because of the prolonged QT interval it caused,
could have additive effects if the other drugs also prolonged the QT interval.
